This is a professional-design device for the treatment of trismus, which is a restricted jaw opening when patients are suffering from head and neck cancer, facial burns, and stroke. The patented pivot design avoids harming the oral mucosa and tissue; patients can use it easily and independently.
In addition, we understand that external forces can cause pain and hurt to patients. We designed a single-use cover made of nitrile to help patients feel comfortable whenever treatment is needed.
Using tongue blades or popsicle sticks to help patients open their mouths is the old-fashioned and out-of-date treatment for trismus. However, this method is flawed and does not provide the gradual stretching patients need to increase their range of motion.
This rehabilitative assistive device helps patients open their mouths easily when they need dental treatment or regular rehabilitation after radiation therapy.
We use medical-grade stainless steel to make this patented pivot design, which can avoid injury to the oral mucosa and tissue. Patients can use it easily and independently.
